Brenda Lange

Brenda Lange, better known as "Bush Bunny Brenda" has been a missionary for the past 15 years. She now ministers in Northern Mozambique through Orphans Unlimited.  

Since 1993, Pastor Brenda Sue Lange, founder and on site coordinator of Orphans Unlimited, has built and organized 2 orphanages, a medical clinic, and a malnutrition center with job training facilities for orphans and widows in one of the most poverty stricken areas of Mozambique, Africa.

Orphans Unlimited is unique in that it's programs go "where no one else wants to go". Jesus mandated Brenda and her staff to help the "forgotten kids" in very remote areas which even aid organizations have failed to touch.

This is another case of the Lord preparing the person before they even know that they are called. Brenda is a registered nurse with expertise in ICU, pediatrics, and nutrition. She hold a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Texas A and M. In 1994 Brenda was ordained by Victory Fellowship of Ministries in Tulsa Oklahoma. She had an experience with the Lord at age 12 but over time she had turned away. After some tough and disappointing years Brenda she had her dream, a horse ranch near Gonzales TX. However, God had other plans.

Through a chain of God engineered circumstances Brenda renewed her relationship with the Lord. Ultimately she knew that she was called to the mission field. Brenda left her horse ranch in Gonzales, TX (1987) when the Lord Jesus mandated her to move to Africa to fulfill HIS VISION for her life. God was about to combine her ranching and nursing skills into a very unique ministry to children in very remote parts of Africa. Within 4 weeks the Lord had assisted her in liquidating all she owned. She moved to Tulsa, OK for missions training.  
   
In 1991, she began "on site training" at an orphanage in war torn Mozambique. For the first 18 months she learned the "do's and dont's" of running an African orphanage the Lord's way. In 1992, the Lord's vision became plain. She was to go into northern Mozambique. and build orphanages the "African way, using local material, keeping the kids in their culture, and making it as self-sufficient as possible".

Until 1995, Brenda underwent intensive "on the job training" in African construction and medical care, as well as all the organizational aspects that are necessary to manage a massive program of this sort. The Lord showed her a sea of children's faces and gave her the name, Orphans Unlimited. She knew the job would be difficult as 1000's of children were dieing of malnutrition and lack of proper medical care in a country struggling to overcome 30 years of war.

In 1996, she built the Village of Love (VOL), a remote children's home in northern Mozambique, giving a home to 100's of orphaned children as they returned from refugee camps in Tanzania and Malawi. In 1999, after training other missionaries to maintain the VOL, she moved on to another remote area with large numbers of dieing children. Bread of Life Children's Center was founded in 2000 and is presently rescuing over 500 orphaned, abandoned, and malnourished kids per year. Government officials have proclaimed to the nation that her program is a "model that other organizations should copy".
 
Areas of Ministry include:
1. Practical Love

A. Bringing in food, clothing, housing, spiritual and physical education, etc. in order to rescue kids in desperate situations. These children include those who are orphaned, abandoned, blind, crippled, and severely malnourished. Our objective is to "raise the kids in the way they should go" according to the Bible. Giving them a chance at a "new life" in both practical, educational and spiritual avenues.

B. Assisting widows and abandoned woman WITH KIDS whose kids would die without our assistance. We train them in agriculture and other job skills, giving them seed, and helping them get a new start in life. Our goal is to make them INDEPENDENT and SELF SUFFICIENT

2. Evangelistic Programs:
Evangelizing with the Jesus Film in the local language, church planting, discipling, and pastoral training. This is a massive program aimed at taking the words of Jesus to up to 100,000/year in remote villages.
