NEVER A DULL MOMENT AROUND HERE!
Tuesday afternoon, Pastor Alberto, who teaches the Bush Bible School, rode
in on his motorbike to tell me that Veronica had lost her balance and
stepped into her cook fire badly burning one foot. Veronica is the lady
who received prayer and a miracle healing of her crippled ankles (after
breaking both by falling into an open water well). He and I drove out
immediately in my pick-up to fetch her to the hospital.
Even though her SEVERE 2nd degree burns covered most of the bottom and
upper parts of her left foot, the hospital said she didn’t qualify for
“in house” treatment. We’d have to take her home. Pastor Dominica, our
woman’s pastor, gave her refugee, cooks her meals, and assist me with
TWICE DAILY bandage changes. The hospital gave her a prescription for 6
Penicillin injections, which they allow me to give since moving her is
difficult. (Normally the patient has to come to the outpatient clinic
for these injections).
Veronica is a real trouper as I have to clean the burns twice daily and
all we have is Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain control. For cleaning her
wound, we put her food into our Manual Whirlpool Bucket (bucket and
swishing action provides the cleaning action) filled with an antiseptic
soap.
The burns are healing well, but it could be at least 2 months before the
skin heals and she can stand weight on that foot.
Prayers for her RAPID HEALING are appreciated.
SURPRISE! INSPECTORS COMING IN 12 HOURS!
That’s the phone call I got at 7:30PM Thursday night from a friend “in the
know” (with Friday being payday!)
AT 3a.m., Leona and I and 4 night guards began sweeping the office,
kitchen, lunch room, and 3 warehouses.
Our executive staff came at 5a.m. to help get 90 bags of corn loaded on
the 7 ton truck for Meluco’s orphans and to double check that all was in
order.
These inspectors see ONE SPIDER WEB and a fine is given!
Around here, you can sweep and take down the spider webs, and the next
morning they are back as if you did nothing.
We got word that we would be 3rd on the list, so we quickly paid all the
workers and then waited for their arrival with everything in order.
2pm, then 4pm and no sign of them. Was our informant wrong?
A phone call told us that they had inspected places both sides of us, and
then SKIPPED US! I call that DEVINE INTERVENTION and an answer to our
prayers! PTL!
We were told that they knew we had received good reports prior to this, so
they decided they had bigger fish to catch elsewhere.
GOD IS GOOD!
NAMARA CHURCH still seeing new converts. Six more people came forward
today for salvations.
I man gave us his alcohol and a woman said her eyes that had constantly
drained tears, no longer did so after we prayed for her.
It is great to see them growing in Christ.
FATIMA’S HAS BEEN REBUILT AND ROOF GOING ON THIS WEEK!
Thank you to the 2 sponsors who gave funds to rebuild her a home that is
basically fire proof now.
Our 7 ton truck is rolling in from Meluco right now, so have to close and
get to work!
Love and Hugs,
