IT’S ALL ABOUT TEAM WORK!
June 10, 2017
YOUR PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED, for we had a smooth time of corn and bean buying without one accident!
Our 3 truck crews of 9 men each, and the 75 man barn crew showed great skill in getting the job done. The program ran smoother than I’ve ever seen it happen.
NAVIGATING THIS LADDER OF BEAN SACKS ‚WITH A SACK ON YOUR HEAD, REVEALS THE STRENGTH OF THESE YOUNG MEN.
It was exhausting work for all of us, but our team showed remarkable strength by weighing and transporting a record 900 SACKS LAST MONDAY!
A total of 182 TONS of CORN (3034 sacks) were processed and stacked.
An additional 115 tons of beans were also brought in and stacked.
Each sacks weighs 132 lbs./60 kg., and is lifted 4 times before being stacked into our barns, awaiting distribution.
IN EVERTHING WE DO, JESUS IS THE CENTER!
I’m very happy for many of the “day workers” came to know Jesus through our morning devotions at the barn.
We started each day in the dark so no photos were possible. It is winter during June and July, so the horizon doesn’t lighten until 5:15 a.m.
Our truck teams reported at 3:45 a.m. daily as the trucks rolled out by 4 a.m. for the distant villages where they weighed and loaded the corn. (That meant de Bunny had to roll out at 3:15 each day.)
Barn work started at 4:30 a.m. with set up as we waited for the team to arrive each morning for 5 a.m. devotions.
BEAUTIFUL HARVEST MOON OVER BALAMA.
This is the largest men’s choir in all of Balama, and their singing could be heard over 1 KM away (1000 yards).
On the last day of corn buying (day 8), all but 6 men repeated the prayer of salvation to receive eternal life through Jesus.
TEAMWORK IN ACTION.
EIGHT is God’s number of new beginnings, which made me very happy.
For it is not only the lives of orphans who are being saved through this program, but PTL it is saving the men who made it happen!
NOTHING BUT THE LOVE OF JESUS OPENS THE HARDENED HEARTS OF AN UNBELIEVER.
GILDO, YOUNGEST OF THE B B C TEAM, SHOWS US HIS “CORN ART”, WHILE WAITING FOR THE LAST TRUCK TO ARRIVE.
Our great thanks to all of those who gave into this program so that over 2,000 orphans will not go hungry.
Now, with a smile on our faces because a tough job is behind us, we happily return to our “normal” schedules until the July corn buying rolls around.
Blessings,
Bush Bunny Brenda Lange
and the Balama Staff
