EMERGENCY FOOD DROPS THIS WEEK
The elephants have been at it again, only in 2 areas of Meluco county this time. Both Imbada and Revia areas (the most remot areas of Meluco county) have had visits from these huge beasts. What harvest they salvaged in May is fast running out, and the kids are hungry.
Don Hitsman, along with our truck team, went to Meluco last Thursday with the first load of beans in preparation for duel distributions this week.
They sprayed and re-sacked 17 of the 25 tons of corn that could be bought in that area, to protect it from bugs.
TWELVE TONS of corn and beans (2 months of food) will be distributed on Monday and Tuesday this week to 150 orphans using our new 7 ton Nissan truck.
THANKS to all your love gifts, these kids will not go hungry this year.
GOVERNMENT INSPECTORS COMING TWICE IN NEXT 2 WEEKS
We need your prayers for FAVOR with these groups.
We face 2 government inspections of our operational documents and systems, kitchens, office workers etc. over the next 2 weeks. First inspection is this Tuesday. Second inspection will be a surprise visit by national level inspectors sometime in the next 14 days.
With many new regulations just put into effect, we are scrambling to comply with all the changes.
These teams are known for being tough.
TRACTS GALORE!
Yesterday, a team of South Africans who print Christian literature, came to Pemba. Eric was notified to come pick up a WHOLE PICK-UP LOAD they wanted to donate to our churches.
We begin distribution today as all our churches in both counties will receive tracts in Makua. A few cases of much needed Portuguese Bibles in MODERN Portuguese were donated, which will make it much easier for our less educated readers to understand. The Bibles we have are in an old version of Portuguese which is hard for beginning readers to understand.
We are very grateful for all that God is doing to help us spread His Word to those hungry for the gospel.
It is a pleasure to serve Him in action and in words.
Blessings, Bush Bunny Brenda and the Balama Team
