JUMAIDA HOME AFTER BOUT WITH PNEUMONIA!  Jumai­da is final­ly home after devel­op­ing pneu­mo­nia with a severe cough over last week­end. Her last blood tests shows her Hemo­glo­bin is up to 11, which means her body is mak­ing red blood cells, PTL! Her weight is down to 6.3kg/14 lbs. and she is now 2 years and 9 months old. Yes, she is skele­ton skin­ny, but play­ing in bed. We will sup­port her with all the love, food, and vitamins/eggs she needs to regain her weight. Due to her weight loss, we had to scram­ble on Fri­day to get her some new clothes, but thank­ful­ly, we had some in stock.

Home means her inten­sive care must con­tin­ue to get her back to the best weight she can achieve. Jumai­da is our most crit­i­cal child at the moment, so we have placed her in iso­la­tion from the oth­er 2 year olds in her house. Her immu­ni­ty is frag­ile, but will improve as she gains weight. Sev­en­teen days in the hos­pi­tal, with 3 dif­fer­ent med­ical prob­lems, yet she beat them all.My hat is off to this lit­tle one, for she is tru­ly a tough lit­tle tyke! RAIN, RAIN, AND MORE RAIN! IS THIS REALLY MARCH? This week was a real chal­lenge, as all reg­u­lar out­door pro­grams from the BBC evan­gel­i­cal teams to the dai­ly Bawana games and the Lit­tle Dis­ci­ples pre-school aged children’s pro­grams had to be CANCELED DUE TO RAIN/MUD. Sat­ur­day is the awe­some CIS PARTY LUNCH for all the chil­dren. We are doing our best to coor­di­nate the trans­port of all the chil­dren and the food so that this event can hap­pen. With some parts of our dirt road in 15cm/6 inch­es of mud, it will be a chal­lenge, but PTL for 4 wheel drive!

Nor­mal­ly, March has some rain, but not DAILY RAINS, as we have expe­ri­enced this week. It is sup­posed to con­tin­ue next week as well. Ugh. So our prayer is for the rains to SLOW DOWN, giv­ing the crops a chance to dry out, before they rot! Please join us in pray­ing for DRY WEATHER, so the har­vest will be great!
