INFANTS JUMAIDA AND TINY REGENIA BACK IN HOSPITAL Prayer request­ed for both these lit­tle ones who are again bat­tling malar­ia. Please note that with Rege­nia, this was a dis­ease she was born with, and it has now reoc­curred as she is lim­it­ed in what med­ica­tions she can take due to her being only 1 month old. Once she weighs 5 kg/11 pounds, she can take the med­i­cine that will erad­i­cate the malar­ia. Her weight: 3.8kg/8.3 pounds.

Jumai­da is now 8 months old, and her immu­ni­ty to dis­ease is very low. We are giv­ing her every­thing she can take at her age to strength­en her blood’s immune response to dis­ease, but it has been an ongo­ing bat­tle since we received her. Twen­ty-four hours after admis­sion, I am told that both are respond­ing to the IV malar­ia treat­ments, but they must stay a full 7 days to receive 14 dos­es of the malar­ia med­ica­tions.
