90 DAY WONDER! Gerel­cia came to us on Decem­ber 4th, 2024, at 7 months of age. She was recov­er­ing from a 7 day stay with malar­ia at the Bala­ma hos­pi­tal, weigh­ing only3.7kg/8 lbs. She should weigh about 8kg/17.5lbs.

Now, 94 days lat­er, she is a hap­py, healthy 7.2kg/15.8 lbs. at 10 months AND SITTING UP INDEPENDENTLY! THAT is a mar­vel by anyone’s stan­dards! She may not catch up to her expect­ed weight for a few more months, but she is well on her way. All she need­ed was prayer, God’s love through all of us, good food, and great care.

The infants we receive in such poor con­di­tion nev­er fail to amaze me! I know babies tend to grow up fast, but our lit­tle 90-day won­der is one of God’s true mir­a­cles! This young lady is the old­est of baby Ambrosio’s Sis­ters and broth­ers. The last week of Jan­u­ary, these 5 chil­dren were mea­sured for their school uni­forms, as they are part of our orphan assis­tance pro­gram. This week, those uni­forms became a real­i­ty, and the old­est stu­dent came to fetch them.

The old­est of the 5 fetch­es the school uni­forms on Feb­ru­ary 28th.

No uni­form, means a stu­dent must drop out of school after 6 weeks. Thanks to YOUR Love Gifts, these 5 orphans, and many oth­er orphans, received uni­forms so they could con­tin­ue their education.
