KIDS GIVING TO KIDS! At last week’s deli­cious lunch par­ty giv­en by CIS, we were gift­ed with a box of toys and col­or­ing books from the Twigg Graphite Mine work­ers. The Twigg employ­ees asked their chil­dren to donate toys to our chil­dren, mak­ing these toys extra spe­cial. We are most grate­ful for the gen­eros­i­ty of these employ­ees and their fam­i­lies. Enjoy the pho­tos of our chil­dren receiv­ing the toys.

ROOF COMPLETED ON HOUSE #8 We are mak­ing progress, as every­thing is in fast mode with the rainy sea­son approach­ing in Decem­ber. The car­pen­ters did a great job of get­ting this large dorm roof cov­ered with strong tin sheets in just 3 days.

A HAPPY ENDING FOR ESPERANCA (HOPE) On Mon­day, Novem­ber 3rd, Esper­an­ca was reunit­ed with her lov­ing grand­par­ents who live here in Bala­ma. This is the lit­tle girl who was aban­doned in a farm­ing field in July, and res­cued by a man liv­ing nearby.

Esper­an­ca, after she was under our care for 8 weeks. Total­ly dif­fer­ent baby.

For sev­er­al weeks, no one knew who she was, but then a friend called the grand­par­ents, and told them about how Esperanca’s moth­er had aban­doned her. Turns out that the field where Esper­an­ca was found belonged to the grand­fa­ther! Our entire staff are very hap­py that this child has a safe place to grow up. YOUR LOVE GIFTS AT WORK!
