NEWBORN BABIES NEED OUR HELP In the last 7 days, our staff received 3 newborn babies needing formula because their mothers are hospitalized and not producing breast milk. These innocent little ones deserve a chance to live, but cannot do so without life- saving formula. WE THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS LOVE GIFTS THAT HELP MEET THIS NEED. At present 26 babies are healthy and growing because you give so that they may live. Hungry infants make angry faces. Granny and her 2 orphaned grandsons fetching food. What’s that you’re doing there, sonny? Fill her up, boys! Devotions with the widows and children before the give out. SEPTEMBER SCARE: 6 TON TRUCK BREAK DOWN. BBB’S CREW “MAKES A NEW PLAN”. The TIME OF HUNGER has begun, and now, more than ever, it is important that our 2 food hauling trucks keep rolling so that orphans won’t go hungry. I arrived home in Balama this week to find out that our 6 ton truck’s right front wheel had serious problems. Our trucks are true work horses, so when one goes down, it means double the work for the other truck and delays in giving out food. WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL FOR YOUR LOVE GIFTS THAT HELP US MAINTAIN THESE TRUCKS, AND TO OUR MECHANIC WHO LIVES 60Km (36 miles) AWAY. MASTER MECHANIC CARLOS made a house call this very morning, and had the 6 ton truck repaired in 30 minutes time. The right front wheel was making a horrible racket and we feared major repairs, but PTL, it only need an adjustment. Both trucks this next week will do 3 MAJOR Distributions including the Elephant Village in Meluco. HEAD’EM UP AND MOVE THEM OUT! KEEP THOSE WHEELS A TURNING! YEE HAH! MANGO TREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION GOT A LATE START FRIDAY Truck Driver Manel and his 8 man crew did double duty Friday so that the orphans in the 7 villages surrounding the Mango Tree Church would not go hungry. THE BALAMA TEAM knows what it means to go the extra mile, and for that I am truly grateful. This 8 man team not only hauled 2 loads totaling 5.6 TONS of corn and 1.2 TONS of beans to the Mango Tree Church early Friday morning, they UNLOADED and DISTRIBUTED it to the 177 orphans and 125 widows (grannies) who care for them. For those of you not familiar with our program, our teams load and unload BY HAND. These very tough, strong young men make it look easy but each bags weighs 60 kg (132 lbs). Give our teams a challenge and they will meet it head on! THANK YOU JESUS FOR SUCH A GREAT TEAM. BLESSINGS FROM MOZAMBIQUE BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE AND THER BALAMA “SUPER TEAM” |
