NEWBORN BABIES NEED OUR HELP

In the last 7 days, our staff received 3 new­born babies need­ing for­mu­la because their moth­ers are hos­pi­tal­ized and not pro­duc­ing breast milk. These inno­cent lit­tle ones deserve a chance to live, but can­not do so with­out life- sav­ing formula.

WE THANK ALL OF YOU FOR  YOUR GENEROUS LOVE GIFTS THAT HELP MEET THIS NEED. At present 26 babies are healthy and grow­ing because you give so that they may live.

SEPTEMBER SCARE:  6 TON TRUCK BREAK DOWN.  BBB’S CREW “MAKES A NEW PLAN”.

The TIME OF HUNGER has begun, and now, more than ever, it is impor­tant that our 2 food haul­ing trucks keep rolling so that orphans won’t go hun­gry. I arrived home in Bala­ma this week to find out that our 6 ton truck’s right front wheel had seri­ous problems.

Our trucks are true work hors­es, so when one goes down, it means dou­ble the work for the oth­er truck and delays in giv­ing out food. WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL FOR YOUR LOVE GIFTS THAT HELP US MAINTAIN THESE TRUCKS, AND TO OUR MECHANIC WHO LIVES 60Km (36 miles) AWAY.

MASTER MECHANIC CARLOS made a house call this very morn­ing, and had the 6 ton truck repaired in 30 min­utes time. The right front wheel was mak­ing a hor­ri­ble rack­et and we feared major repairs, but PTL, it only need an adjustment.

Both trucks this next week will do 3 MAJOR Dis­tri­b­u­tions includ­ing the Ele­phant Vil­lage in Melu­co. HEAD’EM UP AND MOVE THEM OUT!  KEEP THOSE WHEELS A TURNING! YEE HAH!

MANGO TREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION GOT A LATE START FRIDAY

Truck Dri­ver Manel and his 8 man crew did dou­ble duty Fri­day so that the orphans in the 7 vil­lages sur­round­ing the Man­go Tree Church would not go hun­gry. THE BALAMA TEAM  knows what it means to go the extra mile, and for that I am tru­ly grateful.

This 8 man team not only hauled 2 loads total­ing 5.6 TONS of corn and 1.2 TONS of beans to the Man­go Tree Church ear­ly Fri­day morn­ing, they UNLOADED and DISTRIBUTED it to the 177 orphans and 125 wid­ows (grannies) who care for them.

For those of you not famil­iar with our pro­gram, our teams load and unload BY HAND. These very tough, strong young men make it look easy but each bags weighs 60 kg  (132 lbs).

Give our teams a chal­lenge and they will meet it head on! THANK YOU JESUS FOR SUCH A GREAT TEAM.
