HECTIC WEEK BUT WE MARCHING ON With heavy rains, our children have had a challenge getting settled in school. This week also kicked off the organized study time with a tutor to assist the students with their Portuguese and Math. This has made a great difference in their grades and ability to learn in Portuguese. |

JUMAIDA BACK IN HOSPITAL Baby Jumaida is now 20 months old, but still very underweight for her age. She has struggled with intermittent weight loss due to multiple sicknesses as her immune system is very weak. Malaria caught her on February 13th, and we thought she would be home after a 5 day treatment in hospital. Not so, as she developed Bronchial Pneumonia last Sunday, which is finally under control after a respiratory setback on Tuesday. This little one needs your prayers, as she is slowly gaining her strength back, but refuses to each solid baby food. Getting nutrition into her is a big challenge for sure. |

ORPHAN PAYS IT FORWARD! The person caring for Jumaida, 22-year-old Dinha, grew up in our orphan program along with 7 other orphans that Dinha’s Grandmother cared for. When her grandmother passed away, Dinha took over as head of the household when she was only 16. Showing great responsibility, we agreed to give her a job as a day mother after she finished Electricians school last year. When Jumaida became ill, Dinha was given the opportunity to train in intensive infant care along with our Head Mother for the Hospital, Joanna. Dinha is learning fast, as Jumaida is one of the most critical children we have at the moment. JESUS SENT ME TO RESCUE HIS CHILDREN, AND NOW THOSE THAT WE RESCUED YEARS AGO, ARE ASSISTING IN RESCUING OTHERS! Can’t get much better than that! YOUR LOVE GIFTS AT WORK!
