FUN IN THE SUN!

It’s sum­mer here in Mozam­bique AND SCHOOL IS OUT till Feb­ru­ary 1st. The chil­dren cel­e­brat­ed with lots of gig­gles and laugh­ter as they com­pet­ed with each oth­er on the soc­cer field. I caught one of the races where the big­ger kids pig­gy­back the lit­tle kids.They had a blast as they cel­e­brat­ed their first day out of school!

PINK SOCKS FOR THE HOLIDAYS!
Many of the girls and a few of the boys received PINK SOCKS last week from a donor. There was only 1 size, so our Children’s Direc­tor, Anna, chose those chil­dren whose feet fit the socks!I got a big laugh out of it when I saw ALL the chil­dren who had received pink socks at our CIS lunch par­ty last Sat­ur­day. It looked like pink sock day to me, and the chil­dren were so hap­py with the bright color!

Pink socks bring many smiles.

Our younger girls could even wear them.
CHRISTMAS PARTY DECEMBER 20TH

CIS, who pro­vides the tasty high pro­tein meal for our chil­dren every oth­er Sat­ur­day, noti­fied me that they would pro­vide our Christ­mas Feast on Decem­ber 20th. They have many par­ties to cook for over the Christ­mas Hol­i­days, so need to start ear­ly with our children’s party.Any day is fine with our chil­dren, as our moth­ers and chil­dren will receive spe­cial gifts on Christ­mas Day.

Tis the sea­son to by Thank­ful and Hap­py with what the Lord provides.Thank you to all of you for your prayers and Love Gifts that help us res­cue and raise the chil­dren God gives us!

OUR CHILDREN WELCOMED THE ADMINISTRATOR OF BALAMA

On Tues­day, Decem­ber 2nd, the Bala­ma Admin­is­tra­tor vis­it­ed our school age chil­dren at our Learn­ing Cen­ter. He greet­ed the chil­dren by shak­ing their hands, and then went to meet the lit­tle mem­bers of the fam­i­ly, as he was on a tight sched­ule. At House #7, we had all 34 infants and their Fos­ter Moth­ers wait­ing under the Man­go tree.

It is HOT and HUMID here, so every­one loves the shade of these gor­geous Man­go trees. The Admin­is­tra­tor was amazed at how well the chil­dren are growing.One of the lit­tle boys even let the Admin­is­tra­tor pick him up and hold him. He ques­tioned the moth­ers about what was for lunch that day, and when they said MATAPA (Mah-tap-ah), he imme­di­ate­ly said he want­ed some. (He loves Mat­a­pa.) The moth­ers of the Ostrich House gift­ed him with a bowl of Mat­a­pa when it was ready, and he was very hap­py to receive it.

Admin­is­tra­tor hold­ing tod­dler Dione­sio, as I held my breath that Dione­sio would­n’t object to being held. He han­dled it well. Not a peep from him.
Note: Mat­a­pa is a deli­cious mix­ture of crushed Casa­va leaves mixed with peanuts and oth­er spices. It is a Mozam­bi­can favorite among chil­dren and adults alike.

Deli­cious Mat­a­pa. Put it over rice and you have a deli­cious high pro­tein meal.

ERGILSIA RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL

After 8 days in the hos­pi­tal, an emer­gency blood trans­fu­sion, along with 7 days of treat­ment to stop her diar­rhea, our lit­tle girl is final­ly home again. Her ede­ma caused by the ane­mia is gone, and her real weight is 7.6kg/16.7 lbs. at 17 months of age.

Her blood count is now 9.6, which is total­ly accept­able here, but we plan to keep a close eye on her for any signs of ane­mia. Her Fos­ter Moth­er, Fran­quina, is one of the best baby care­tak­ers we have, so we hope that Ergilsia will flour­ish under her care.Ergilsia is on a strict high pro­tein diet with spe­cif­ic vit­a­mins to boost her blood count and immu­ni­ty.

PLEASE KEEP HER IN PRAYER, as her Dr. has declared her in a chron­ic ane­mic state. She needs a JESUS MIRACLE to cor­rect this as it is life threat­en­ing if not stopped. Thanks so much for call­ing on the Lord for her mir­a­cle heal­ing!
