OUR CHILDREN WELCOMED THE ADMINISTRATOR OF BALAMA On Tuesday, December 2nd, the Balama Administrator visited our school age children at our Learning Center. He greeted the children by shaking their hands, and then went to meet the little members of the family, as he was on a tight schedule. At House #7, we had all 34 infants and their Foster Mothers waiting under the Mango tree.

It is HOT and HUMID here, so everyone loves the shade of these gorgeous Mango trees. The Administrator was amazed at how well the children are growing. One of the little boys even let the Administrator pick him up and hold him. He questioned the mothers about what was for lunch that day, and when they said MATAPA (Mah-tap-ah), he immediately said he wanted some. (He loves Matapa.) The mothers of the Ostrich House gifted him with a bowl of Matapa when it was ready, and he was very happy to receive it.

Note: Matapa is a delicious mixture of crushed Casava leaves mixed with peanuts and other spices. It is a Mozambican favorite among children and adults alike.

ERGILSIA RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL After 8 days in the hospital, an emergency blood transfusion, along with 7 days of treatment to stop her diarrhea, our little girl is finally home again. Her edema caused by the anemia is gone, and her real weight is 7.6kg/16.7 lbs. at 17 months of age. |

Her blood count is now 9.6, which is totally acceptable here, but we plan to keep a close eye on her for any signs of anemia. Her Foster Mother, Franquina, is one of the best baby caretakers we have, so we hope that Ergilsia will flourish under her care.Ergilsia is on a strict high protein diet with specific vitamins to boost her blood count and immunity. PLEASE KEEP HER IN PRAYER, as her Dr. has declared her in a chronic anemic state. She needs a JESUS MIRACLE to correct this as it is life threatening if not stopped. Thanks so much for calling on the Lord for her miracle healing! TOGETHER, WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! BLESSINGS, BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE AND THE BALAMA STAFF
