FROM: Bush Bunny Brenda DATE: March 16, 2024 BABY BOY GILDO, 32ND INFANT JOINS OUR FAMILY Baby Gildo, 3 months old, weighed in at our Infant Formula Day on Thursday, March 14th at only 3.8kg (a little over 8 lbs.), down from 3.95kg on March 1st. Born on December 16, 2023, Gildo’s mother passed away when he was only 2 weeks old. Gildo was born in Nairobi village about 20km/12 miles from Balama. He was immediately registered into our milk program on January 3rd when his Grandmother requested help. The infant was left with the grandmother who struggled on Thursday, the 14th, to walk the 12 miles to get formula for him. Sadly, Gildo is now in critical condition with the loss of another 150 grams. This tells us the infant is suffering starvation as the grandmother isn’t able to meet his needs. She gladly gave the infant to us, as she realized it was best so he would not perish. One of our BBC members gladly took the Grandmother home on his motorbike, taking only 1 hour as compared to her all day walk to get to us. |

The severely malnourished Gildo was placed with Foster Mother Franquina in House #7 as he is in critical condition, but surprisingly not sick. His severe malnutrition will be overcome soon with lots of love and plenty of baby formula. Our foster mothers are miracle workers for sure! We will adjust his diet slowly, and hope to have him eating infant rice cereal in the next 2 weeks. OUR EVER-GROWING FAMILY I caught some candid shots of two of our 1‑year-olds as they tried out their legs this week. It was hilarious and super hard to catch a good shot.Afusa, now walking, is an expert at moving fast and hiding behind the other children. |

Almeida is just learning to stand with help, and is super happy about it! |

Last but not least, our Reginia is now 3 weeks old and doing well after her bout with malaria. |

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR POWERFUL PRAYERS FOR ALL 61 OF OUR CHILDREN.I think the UNLIMITED part of our name is just starting to take shape, as I have never in my 34 years in Mozambique received so many infants in such a short time frame. |
