REGINIA To be born with malaria is beyond belief, but baby Reginia is an overcomer. At 1 week of age, she is now home with us in the new Toddler House with our best mother, Mariamo. Reginia needs to be kept in isolation to prevent further illnesses, and the Toddler House can provide that since the little girl’s room is empty at the moment. |

SAMUEL STARTS ELECTRICIAN’S SCHOOL Samuel graduated High School last November, but had to wait until February 23rd for the small technical school to open. This school is just 2 miles from our mission station and is sponsored by the local graphite mine at no charge to the students. The instructors train young men and women to be electricians, mechanics, and agronomists. Samuel chose Electrician, marked by the bright orange jumpsuit he must wear to class each day. A used bicycle we had was repaired and loaned to Samuel to allow him time to eat breakfast before he has to be in class at 7:30 a.m. each day. Our Staff wants him to concentrate his energy on learning, and not walking 4 miles a day back and forth to the school. This school is a real blessing to all the high school graduates in the Balama area. PROVIDING OUR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES WITH A JOB SKILL IS THE FINAL STEP IN HELPING THEM BECOME RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. |
