MILAGRE IS FINALLY WALKING! After 5 weeks in a leg and waist cast due to a broken femur, Milagre was too afraid to move his leg when the cast was removed. He was stiff and sore, so we did easy massaging movements to encourage him to bend his hip, knee, and ankle. After 7 days of scooting on his tummy, he finally started bending his knee to crawl on all fours. Then he began pulling himself up on a chair to stand. ON TUESDAY this week, he finally got really bold and walked independently, as you can see in the video.

It is such a relief to see him walk, even though he is still holding that leg stiff. I know in my heart that he will get back to “normal” very soon, as he likes to run! After I turned off the phone camera, he walked to me and I gave him a big hug. He then smacked me on the cheek with his style of a kiss. My heart soared! After all he has been through, he is still his loving self. THANK YOU for your prayers for this cute little one.

ENCOURAGING YOUNG BOYS WITH THEIR BROOM BUSINESS These young boys came by last Saturday afternoon to sell me their brooms. I had put out the word on Friday via the local ‘’grapevine” that I needed yard sweeping brooms. The little bushes that the boys collect in the local fields are perfect for leaf sweeping. They are free for those who have the time to go find and cut them. Then they must dry them to get the leaves off.

This supply will last us a about 2 months. The best part is seeing these 2 boys with big smiles on their faces, because I told them I would buy more when they had them. Each broom costs 5 cents in USA money. With 7 houses to supply with brooms, plus our mission station, we always need more brooms. These plants can only be harvested in the dry season, and our rainy season which starts in December, is almost here. Time to get all our supplies stocked up, as the rainy season makes our dirt roads into mush by January. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS AND LOVE GIFTS THAT MAKES SAVING CHILDREN A REALITY. BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE AND THE BALAMA STAFF
