MILAGRE GETS HIS CAST OFF! Milagre was released on Wednesday from the hospital after his 7‑day anti-malaria treatment. Office Administrator Capena made an appointment for Thursday to have Milagre’s cast removed as his X‑RAY showed his femur bone is healed! PTL!

He is a bit stiff after being casted for almost 5 weeks, but that is to be expected. With a bit of physical therapy by his Foster Mother and I, he will soon be up and walking. He can bear weight now without a problem, but is afraid to take a step. Once he realizes he can walk again, there will be no stopping him!

ERGILCIA NOW STANDING ON HER OWN While checking on the little ones at the Ostrich House, I was amazed to see 15-month-old Ergilcia now standing on her own! Foster Mother Tina has done a great job of raising this little baby from a 4.4 lb./ 2kg infant to a strong 15-month-old. She is a bit behind in her development, but will soon catch up as she has many “siblings” at her house to show her the way. |

DOMINGAS AND JORGE IN HOSPITAL WITH MALARIA Severe malaria that causes high fever and vomiting is rampant right now in our area. No matter how hard we try to keep our little ones covered with nets, those pesky mosquitos still manage to find that tender baby skin. On Monday, Domingas, who was out playing ball last week, had to be admitted with vomiting and high fever. He was positive for Malaria.

Thursday at noon, I was down exercising Milagre’s leg when the Head Mother, Gilda, brought Jorge to me. He had just vomited, and his fever was 39C/102F! I raced him to the hospital, where IV treatments were started immediately. He is one sick little boy, as this came on very quickly.

Please keep all 3 of these boys (Milagre, Domingas, and Jorge) in your prayers. Your Love Gifts do make a difference! It allows me to buy the medications that are saving the lives of our little ones. BLESSINGS, BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE AND THE BALAMA STAFF
