ELEPHANT RAIDS UNCOVERS A VILLAGE OF NAKED ORPHANS
On Friday, May 13th, the health department and our Orphanage Administrator, Sylvai, were able to verify that 111 ORPHANS are among the severely malnourished children suffering from elephant raids on the village of IMBADA. (M‑Bah-dah).
It was obvious these orphans have suffered for some time as NONE OF THEM had any clothes on!
They were living without hope long before the elephants raided as severe malnutrition doesn’t develop from a few days without food.
Did God send the elephants to attract attention in response to these children’s cries for help?
We all know the Lord’s heart for children, so I believe He did just that.
These children may not know who their creator is yet, but our Bush Biker team of Meluco will be part of the clothing distribution team to visit there this Tuesday. They plan to tell them all about the God who loves them and wants to save them.
From ages 5 to 11, they are sleeping on the dirt floors of mud huts owned by a few warm hearted women in the village. Reality is that they are sleeping naked on a cold dirt floor.
The woman hosting them have little food themselves, but are sharing what they have with these destitute children.
Due to the elephant raids, they now have little to offer anyone.
FOOD HAS BEEN DELIVERED (thanks to your generous love gifts).
On Friday, our truck delivered 2.5 tons of corn and 1 ton of beans, plus iodized salt for these children.
As I write this, Linda Stanley is sacking up enough shirts, shorts, and skirts to give each child a set of clothing.
Your love gifts provided the material to produce these clothes made at our Balama sewing center which produces 20 children’s outfits per day on pedal powered sewing machines. We have just enough long sleeved shirts for each of these kids from our winter clothing boxes. The Cool Season is here with early morning temps in the upper50’s.
Saviour means one who rescues. Jesus sent us here to rescue the children in distress and show them HIS LOVE.
It is an honor to serve our Lord in this capacity.
WITH A LITTLE HELP, we can get these 111 orphans off those cold dirt floors.
$27 dollars provides the following for each of these kids.
Blanket ($14),
Locally made bed (wood frame with braided rope bottom with a grass mat) ($9),
2nd set of clothing as($7).
Total needed for 111 kids is: $3,330.
ERIC COMING HOME MAY 20TH!
After 3 different orthopaedic doctors examined his knee, all infection and implant problems were ruled out.
Eric was sent to a physical therapist who specializes in artificial knee problems. Eric is being given physio therapy and a specialized exercise program to rebuild his upper thigh muscles which atrophied even with exercise. Seems he wasn’t given the correct exercise program by his first therapist which led to severe inflammation, intense pain, and a weak leg.
We are glad that the solution is non-surgical, and that Eric WILL be home in time for June food buying! PTL!
Blessings, BBB
