On  Fri­day, Cape­na received a call say­ing mul­ti­ple gov­ern­ment offi­cials from the Health and Social Ser­vices Depts. want­ed to vis­it our chil­dren. They did not reveal their real objec­tive until they arrived for they want­ed to sur­prise the chil­dren with 2 large gift box­es of clothing.

Please real­ize that this group of 4 peo­ple left Pem­ba ear­ly Fri­day morn­ing, drove 8 hours round trip in order to bring this sur­prise to our children.

Last week in a joint 2 day (state wide) con­fer­ence for Health and Social Ser­vices groups, Cape­na was extreme­ly hon­ored when our pro­gram was announced as #2 IN THE STATE for being a “MOST HELPFUL ORGANIZATION IN SUPPORT OF SOCIAL SERVICES”.  (#1 was UNICEF)

I am extreme­ly hon­ored by this recog­ni­tion of our endeav­ors to res­cue and edu­cate “chil­dren in dif­fi­cult situations”.

THE WHEELS KEEPS TURNING AS FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS BEGIN

In 5 dis­tri­b­u­tions over 4 days this week we will deliv­er more than 34 TONS of corn and beans to over 1,800 orphans and wid­ows in remote vil­lages of Balama.
