JOSEPH PROGRAM: 4 BARNS OF FOOD MAXED OUT AND READY TO DISTRIBUTE TO ORPHANS
800 SACKS OF RICE (40.4 TONS) rolled in this week to fill the remaining food space in barns 3 and 4. In 2004, God showed me how to provide for orphans during their time of hunger in the same way Joseph had provided for Israel during their 7 years of hunger. Thus, the JOSEPH PROGRAM began with 1 small barn that housed our entire food supply for the year.
Rice flowing in. All sacks are sewn with strong cord before storage.
As the Lord blessed our efforts with more financing, we expanded by building 3 larger barns. In January, we added a 4th storage area AT NO COST by converting part of our corn milling area into a food storage area. Thanks to a generous donor and this new space, we were able to purchase 10 EXTRA TONS of rice this year.
Rice straight from the Field. Leaving it in the hull allows for long term storage for bugs won’t touch it.
Food distributions to the village orphans is being organized at this time. First food give out scheduled for August 4th to the Mango Tree Church area. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED MAKE THIS POSSIBLE. It is always wonderful to have this huge responsibility behind us.
Note: When we brought in the final corn 2 weeks ago, our truck teams were told by several village leaders that God had given us ALL the corn in the villages. Buyers who followed us found little to buy. THANK YOU JESUS FOR FILLING OUR BARNS SO THAT YOUR CHILDREN HAVE WHAT THEY NEED.
MOZAMBIQUE IS COLD, MY FRIENDS!
Thank you so much to all who provided sweat suits for our children.
Balama temperatures have been in the low 50’s (14C) with many cloudy days never seeing 70F (22C). In the 19 cold seasons I’ve lived in Balama, NEVER have I seen it so cold with sustained lows lasting up to 10 days at a time. But thanks to all of you, our resident children are snug in their beds with warm blankets and warm clothes to keep them healthy.
Remember, NONE OF OUR HOUSES, including mine, have any heating methods beyond an open camp fire. The “norm” around here is what you see in the photo I took while walking in our neighborhood in the early morning last week (sorry it’s so blurry!). Everyone lights an outdoor fire and then stands around it to keep warm.
Warming up by the open fire. (Sorry photo is so blurry~)
BBB BLESSED WITH BREAKFAST TREAT
FELIZ means happy! Feliz is certainly happy for this neighborhood child has ducks who are laying many eggs right now. His ducks provide him with pocket money so he can buy a few treats.
That smile says it all as Feliz shows off his precious duck eggs.
Duck eggs are very tasty and fill your plate for they are BIG. The yoke alone is as big as a large egg. All the local children know that “Mama Brenda” loves duck eggs!
Duck egg yolk bigger than the spoon.
LOVE THE LITTLE CHILDREN, FOR THEIR GENTLE SPIRITS ARE PLEASING TO THE LORD.
BLESSINGS,
BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE
AND HER HAPPY STAFF
