CHEBANY (#2) HOME FROM HOSPITAL Chebany (#2) will be 1 year old on Octo­ber 7, 2024. There is no bet­ter way to cel­e­brate than to have your health back, and move into a lov­ing home with his new­found “Mom”, Fos­ter Moth­er Este­fa­nia. He is smil­ing, gain­ing weight, and eat­ing almost every 2 to 3 hours. Looks to me like his body wants to regain his intend­ed weight for a 1‑year-old in just a few months! For those who don’t know, we have a preschool­er by the same name. Thus, the clar­i­fi­ca­tion with the name Chebany (#2).

HELPING OUT THE WIDOWS IN OUR REMOTE CHURCHES A New Jer­sey Church gave us a very gen­er­ous gift that is a dou­ble bless­ing. To assist the vil­lage men to learn bet­ter construction.Benefit the wid­ows in the church by mak­ing them the ben­e­fi­cia­ry of the con­struc­tion-trainees’ new skills. This pro­gram was begun in August under the lead­er­ship of those in the church who are very good at teach­ing con­struc­tion to oth­ers. The first wid­ow home is now com­plet­ed by sev­er­al men who go to our Impire Vil­lage church.

This wid­ow with her chil­dren were in need of a new grass roof as the old grass roof was rot­ten. The men learned by doing and the wid­ow with chil­dren ben­e­fit­ted. That’s what I call a WIN/WIN situation!

This lit­tle fam­i­ly will sleep well under their new roof. This a super bless­ing to them.

BUSH BUNNY ON THE HOP! It was time to renew my pass­port, so I did just that a few weeks ago. My new pass­port is now ready and wait­ing for me to pick it up at the U.S. Embassy in Maputo. I will leave next week for a 3‑day “quick trip” to fetch it. Cape­na and our won­der­ful staff will con­tin­ue look­ing after the chil­dren and infants in my absence.
