BUSH BUNNY IN ATLANTA, HEADED BACK TO MOZAMBIQUE!
It’s April 14th, and this Bush Bunny will be in the air for 17 hours tonight, landing in Johannesburg, South Africa tomorrow, then on to Mozambique on April 16th.
The tour went well, and I am excited to get home to the new programs God has for us this year.
MANY NEW PROGRAMS TO OPEN IN 2011
So fasten your seat belts because this newly energized bunny is going to be hopping at double speed to do all that the Lord has shown us to do this year.
1. SMALL BUSINESS TRAINING for our orphans via goat production projects and Chia seed production (see article below).
2. OPEN A NEW MISSION in a county called Namuno (Nah-moo-nooh).
Not one church or mission exists in this county and the orphans are suffering extreme malnutrition, begging food or eating trash on the streets. They need a Jesus Rescue, plain and simple, and the Lord has ordered us to move out and do it.
MASSIVE FOOD BUYING STARTS MAY 1ST.
Four Americans have dedicated their summer to come help us FILL THE BARNS! I’ve never had this much help, and it is a BIG RELIEF, as this program is growing quickly, and it is not possible for Eric and I to handle all the aspects of this intensive program our 1,600 orphans and 600 widows depend on.
A 6 person Michigan team is coming in July who will help us evangelize and hopefully plant a new church in a remote village.
CHIA SEED PRODUCTION CAN BRING JOBS AND HIGH PROTEIN FOOD TO MOZAMBIQUE
Two big challenges we have are protein malnutrition and a lack of jobs for our older orphans.
Three weeks ago, I was introduced to LIFEMAX who provide jobs in 3rd world countries to those who want to grow a particular specie of Chia seeds, the only ingredient in their 100% raw food called MILA.
During my research on Lifemax, I heard some fascinating testimonies from MDs and others in the health field about Mila, so bought a bag and tried it.
Within 10 days, I had lost 6 lbs. (it helps dump that excess middle age spare tire), and a whole inch in my waist! I had been gaining weight steadily as the middle age bulge had caught up with this bunny, even though I was only eating rice and beans!
My energy and ENDURANCE increased so that I could work hard for 16 hours! Normally, I was wiped out in 12. Anyone who knows me can tell you that this bunny lost her hop at dark, and was in bed by 7pm. Now I’m up at 4a.m. (my normal wake up time), and I go strong till about 9pm each night. When I say STRONG, I mean full out go, go, go, as this bunny is a doer that likes to get things done NOW! J That’s one of the reasons God gave me the assignment to rescue orphans. Organizing and getting a job done are 2 of the gifts He gave me.
WE ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS, as Chia plants can produce 3–4 harvest/year and it GROWS BEST between the equator and the Tropic of Capricorn. Northern Moz. is IN THAT ZONE, PTL!
The President of Lifemax had her office call me 2 days ago, and they will be contacting me in May to tell me more about what they can do to help our kids produce Chia. More info will be released on this project as it develops.
If you want to check out this fascinating “MIRACLE SEED” called MILA, go to:
www.lifemax.net/orphans4mila
Purchases made through this website will DIRECTLY BENEFIT our orphans in Mozambique.
CHECK OUT MY MILA TESTIMONY ON YOUTUBE.
MILA IS A 100% RAW FOOD with many health benefits.
I’ve personally seen 2 of my friends with chronic fatigue, fibro-myalgia, and gout, gain energy and relief from muscle pain after only a week of eating this seed. God made it, giving it to us, and I am a firm believer in using HIS plants to keep our bodies healthy.
BLESSINGS and Much Thanks for all you do to help us rescue more orphans!

BUSH BUNNY’S HOUSE ROBBED IN MOZAMBIQUE
Sometime last night, a child with at least one adult, broke into the back of my bedroom at our mission station in Moz. An axe was used to pry open one of the solid wood shuttered windows. (they left the axe behind as proof of how they got in).
Footprints from a small child, approximately 10 years old, were found below the window.
The shutters are too narrow for even a small adult to climb through.
The prescription medications online room was completely ransacked with all my clothes and other items pulled out of boxes and suitcases onto the floor.
Without me being there, it will be hard to determine exactly what all they took.
For sure, the electronics were taken.
Personal DVD player with headphones
CD player
Ministry DVD player used for our Bush Bible School
16 inch flat screen used for teaching purposes in several programs
Some of the medications for the kids
Anyone who has been robbed while away on a trip, knows that it is very upsetting and leaves one feeling very violated and angry.
We have 2 night guards on duty plus 4 dogs, but whoever did this knew the guard routine, and knew to stay on the side of the house where the guard dogs would have difficulty hearing them.
All that can be done now is to add more security to the windows and have the guards make more round each night to make sure no one can sneak up on the my house .
At the moment, I’m in Tulsa for the week, as my out of state speaking tour is just beginning.
I’m making new friends, as am now “mentoring” missionaries who desire to start orphan foster care programs in 3 countries.
Barundi
Uganda
Tanzania
Foster care is the most LOVING and practical way to care for 1000’s of orphans. We at Orphans Unlimited know for a fact that God prefers His children be KEPT IN THEIR CULTURE, since He ordered me to do it that way in Moz.
Social Services from the national government level inspected us this year, giving our program their highest accommodation for our care of 1,600 orphans in foster care.
They asked to use our program as a model for others desiring to care for orphans in Moz.
I’m now sharing this information with any missionary desiring to care for orphans throughout Afric.
The model will work in any country in Africa.
We appreciate your prayers and loving concern for us and our kids.
Blessings, Bush Bunny Brenda

BUSH BUNNY ARRESTED ON EVAC FLIGHT
My Christmas illness had quite a few “quirks” that I didn’t have the energy to write in the last blog.
Sharing them with you will let you know that being evacuated from Moz. with any illness is no easy task.
NOW, for the “rest of the story”. 🙂
First, let me say we have an excellent evac group, and after this incident, they profusely apoligized for the hassles I experienced, and now have a better understanding of how complex Moz. can be.
On Saturday, Jan. 1st I was driven by Capena, my program director to Pemba (5 hour drive).
A private hosptial exists in Pemba, so I went there for the best treatment Pemba doctors can offer.
Hospitalized overnight in this clean but simple clinic, they did the best they could for me.
The Doctor recognized that I had an acute abdomen and needed better diagnostic means than they had.
Evacuation plans were made, and even though I was very weak, the Dr. approved me going out on a COMMERCIAL airline via Maputo the next day.
Our normal route is Pemba to Maputo to Johannesburg (7 hour flight with the layover in Maputo).
LAM gives little medical support, such as a wheelchair, so I knew I would be on my own, and I wasn’t thrilled about it.
I was told there were no seats on the above flight, and that I would be routed through Tanzania, to Kenya and then on to South AFrica, arriving 11 hours later at MIDNIGHT!
I REFUSED!
Calling MAF in Nampula (based 45 min. flight south of us), they told me they could fetch me, and get me on the Nampula — Maputo- Joburg flight leaving at 12:40pm that day (5 hours flying time to S. Africa).
My evac company agreed to this, and purchased an E ticket via the internet.
(What they didn’t realize is that the LAM computer didn’t accept their credit card payment.)
MAF made excellent time to Pemba to fetch me, and landed in Nampula with 5 minutes to spare!
At check in, the computer showed the ticket was good, so I was given my boarding pass!
One hour into the flight, I’m summons to the flight deck, and told I was ILLEGALLY on the plane as I didn’t pay for my ticket!
I told them about the evac, but they treated me like a criminal.
I was told to sit in my seat, and that I better not move when the others got off the plane.
A 3 person escort was sent to take me to the LAM office where I could pay CASH for the ticket OR GO TO JAIL.
The 2nd part of my ticket to RSA was canceled.
Before leaving Pemba, I had planned to give my extra Mozambican cash to Capena, but felt a STRONG CHECK in my spirit from the Lord Jesus telling me to keep the cash with me.
Because of this obediance, I had the needed cash with me and was able to pay for the entire ticket to Johannesburg. ($558)
Doing all this while very weak from the “complicated malaria” was not easy, but God gave me the strength.
GOD IS ALWAYS THERE AND FAITHFUL TO CARRY US THROUGH THE ROUGH SPOTS!
I am back in Balama at full force .
With only 11 days before my departure from Moz. on Jan. 19th, I am busy organizing the work at the mission.
Eric Dry returned with me, and is busy getting our 2011 DVD story ready to show you.
In South Africa, I have planned a relaxing 4 day retreat before coming to the USA.
Experience has taught me that once I get to the USA, there just isn’t time for a break.
I greatly apprecaite the 40+ Buy Xenical people responded with “get well” notes.
Due to limited time, I’m not able to answer everyone individually.
Please realize that I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR PRAYERS!
Busy Bunny on the hop!
Looking forward to seeing many of you in person very soon.

Update from Bush Bunny Brenda

Subject: BBB update
On Christmas night, I came down with malaria.
Due to an inability to drink enough to keep hydrated, I was admitted to the
Pemba hospital for IV treatment. The malaria was successfully killed out,
but the result was a bowel blockage from being too dehydrated for 3 days.
Pemba is very limited on the drugs they have, and had nothing to unblock it.
MISSIONS AVIATION FELLOWSHIP and GLOBAL RESCUE organized to get me out on a
commercial airline on Sunday, weak but able to manage to get to South
Africa for treatment.
The only flight available was in Nampula due to holiday traffic.
MAF picked flew out with only a 5 minute notice and got on line pharmacy me to Nampula in
time to catch the commercial flight with 5 minutes to spare!
Made for an exciting morning to say the least.
A night in a great South African ER had everything under control within
several hours.
My thanks to Global Rescue for all the assistance they gave in getting the
flight and hospital organized.
I will be flying back to Moz. on Jan. 5th with Eric Dry, my Associate
Director.
Prayer played a BIG part in my fast recovery and the fact that surgery was
not needed to fix the problem.
I thank ALL of you for your prayers.
I felt God’s peace on me during the entire “adventure”.
This is one I have no desire to repeat for sure!
I will be releasing my USA speaking tour schedule in the next 2 weeks.
Really looking forward to seeing all of you!
Blessings, BB Brenda

BUSH BUNNY SPEAKING TOUR FOR 2011
Eric’s knee is doing remarkably well as he is now 30 days post op.
We thank all of you for your prayers and love gifts that made this
possible. Unknown to all of us, Eric had developed Type B Diabetes which
was uncovered because of this surgery. His blood sugar is now stabilizing
in the normal range, and he is expected to return in early January.
Because of this, I am now expected to arrive in the USA late January.
Any church or group who would like to book a speaking date with me, should
contact me directly at this address: brenda@orphansunlimited.org
Please cc your message to Linda at our office (linda@orphansunlimited.org)
incase the international internet decides to eat your message. 🙂
I will also be interviewing people who would like to help us this year as
we have a donor who would like to help support someone who can give 2 or
more years of service to the Lord with our ministry.
It’s been a hectic year with many unexpected challenges, so I really look
forward to seeing as many people as possible on this tour.
The tour will begin in early Feb. and end first Sunday in April.
Blessings and much thanks for all you do to save the lives of children in
Mozambique.

MELUCO ORPHAN CENTER TO EXPAND
The last 3 days I’ve been on the road, as the new Administrator of Meluco County asked to meet with me.
Jose has just been transferred from 2nd in charge of another county to 1st in charge of Meluco County and he has a great heart for kids.
He was concerned for 9 orphans who were dismissed from our program 2 years ago by local government officials who didn’t like them living near our mission station (1 mile out of town).
We offered to buy a house in town and move the kids, but were told the kids were better off with their family, (who had dumped them on the street to eat garbage).
So these 9 orphans, ages 4–11, received our food but had no one to care for them over the last 2 years.
The oldest girl of 11 married a man at 13 just to get a roof over her head.
After hearing our report, the Administrator gave us permission to organize a new home near our mission station and fetch the 8 remaining children.
We are all amazed that none of them died of neglect!
Sylvai wasted no time in checking out the area for a house to buy but none are available.
Land is plentiful in this area, so we plan to purchase a lot near our mission ($100) and rapidly build a home of “pao pickey”.
This is a fence post laced with bamboo type of construction that is then plastered with cement and painted to seal the Buy Xenical Online walls.
It can be built in a matter of 10 days and will serve as a great home for the kids, as it is super solid.
The rainy season is upon us, so timing is critical since the rains are expected to start in mid November.
GOD HAS MADE A WAY for these little ones and we are all so, so happy!
Under our new County Leader, our assistance to the orphans without family will now thrive!
ERIC is doing well at 2 weeks post op and begins additional physical therapy on Oct. 25th.
Keep your prayers coming, as his blood sugar is still unstable, and he’s feeling very tired due to all the changes his body is feeling.
Will be a busy week in Balama as we hope to put the finishing touches on the new orphans houses and get the kids moved.
The bulldozers have worked all around us (as we prayed they would stay away a few more days).
Doors and widows go in and then most of the kids can move to their new places.
Keep those prayers coming and know we love and appreciate all of you!
Blessings, BBB and the Balama gang
