SYRAH/TWIGG GRAPHITE MINE EMPLOYEES BLESS OUR ORPHANS

At 5 a.m. Fri­day, our staff was busy mov­ing tables and orga­niz­ing 10 box­es of donat­ed school sup­plies for our fam­i­ly of chil­dren. Every­thing from uni­forms, note books, to rulers and pen­cil sharp­en­ers were laid out for dis­tri­b­u­tion, for the new school year starts on Mon­day, Feb. 5th.

Amelia and Syli­mane, Twigg’s des­ig­nat­ed “elves” came to help, and all 87 orphans were hap­pi­ly show­ing off their gifts 2 hours lat­er. MANY THANKS TO ALL THE SYRAH/TWIGG EMPLOYEES for their over­whelm­ing gen­eros­i­ty to our orphans. Our hap­py chil­dren now each have a new back­pack full of much need­ed sup­plies to help them do their best dur­ing this school year.

FLOORS AND DOORS MOUNTED IN NEWEST DORM COMPLEX

The rains returned to “nor­mal” this week, allow­ing us full work days (PTL) for our BBC evan­ge­lis­tic teams and our con­struc­tion crews.

After 2 days of sun­shine and only light rains, the ground was amaz­ing­ly dry, so the trac­tor team went to work car­ry­ing our stock­piled sand to the new dorm site. We watched this in amaze­ment, for it has nev­er been dry enough to use the trac­tor on Feb. 1st!  (peak of the rainy sea­son). For that we thank the Lord and the sandy loam ground that dries quickly!

Thanks to more sand, the 3 dorm rooms now have con­crete floors, and all 7 door frames have been mount­ed. Our goal is to have this orphan com­plex com­plet­ed in March if the rains allow it.
