BALAMA STAFF BUSIER THAN A BEAVER IN A FLOOD!
Cleaning out food warehouses, preparing the trucks, adding new Orphans, and distributing warm clothes to our 70+ school children, has kept all of us” rabbit hopping busy” this week. So I thought that I’d let the photos do the talking.
BABY SANTOS IS NOW 4KGS (8.8 LBS.) at 6 WEEKS! This adorable little boy is super content and snug is his new sweat suit. Our mornings are cool and windy, making it sweater weather for sure.
ALL BUT 5 OF THE 68 SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN received sweat suits last week. I went to Pemba on Monday for the new clothing shipment had just arrived at the store. Seems I was the first to snatch up the larger sizes we so desperately needed, so the 5 “patient ones” who didn’t receive last week, wanted to show you their new sweat pants.
TWO NEW ORPHANS JOIN THE ROVUMA VILLAGE FAMILY
(L to R) Sisters Geninha, 6, and Albina, 8, showing big smiles for they just received new clothes made right here at our mission station. Yeah, I know they don’t match, but when the bottom is one size and the top another, no way to get them into matching colors.
Sadly, their baby sister, Valda, passed away just 2 days ago. She was immediately hospitalized on Monday for severe anemia when their Aunt took these 3 to register at Social Services. Our Rovuma Pastor is checking up on them regularly to make sure their elderly Aunt is handling the new responsibility of caring for these 2 girls.
UNWANTED SATURDAY NIGHT VISITOR
Last Saturday night, one of our goat guards literally stepped on this 7 foot (2.1 meter) long PYTHON in the dark! There was quite a scramble, as the guards tell the story, for the snake wanted to “hug” some of our super cute baby goats. Baby goat is a favorite Python snack, but thanks to our fast acting guards, this one won’t be bothering them again.
KIDS WILL BE KIDS!
The oldest of our 39 baby goats playing in the water basin while their Moms look on.
Visitors often ask me how many kids I have, so I respond with a grin:
“2 legged or 4 legged”?
KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYERS as we gear up to gather in the 500+ TONS of corn and beans that will support 2000+ orphans and widows in 2 counties.
ON MAY 30TH, the Lord is sending Dave Deboer from Michigan to help out during the June food buying! YIPPEE!!!
This is Dave’s 6th time to come help, and he is super at “finding a need and filling it”!
HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY,
