OUR YOUNGER GENERATION REALLY ENJOY THE CIS PARTY FOOD! At the party last Saturday, I managed to capture a photo and a video of our ever-growing family at the CIS party.
![]() Children enjoying the high protein meal provided by CIS of Balama. |
Featured in the photo are twins Crecencia (purple shirt), and Crecencio (dark blue shirt) who are now 3 years old, as well as Orlencia, (pink t‑shirt) now 2 years old. All three arrived at our door when they were wee wittle ones. The twins were only 1 year old, and badly malnourished while Orlencia was just a baby in arms. How fast they grow up! These 3 wasted no time cleaning their plates, so that desert could be served (a delicious cupcake).

REPAIRING VILLAGE WATER WELLS Several of our friends have asked if we still work with water wells. Yes, we do repairs and maintenance on the over 100 water wells in 2 Districts/Counties, but no longer drill new wells. The photo is of a water well we recently repaired as one of the metal pumping rods inside the well casing had broken. Clean water is still the biggest factor in helping the children stay healthy in this area. That is why it is so important to repair broken water wells as soon as the breakdown is reported to us. Your Love Gifts make this possible.

Water well repairs continue bringing health to the villages. See the video here: https://youtube.com/shorts/XMbMVO41wtM? FOOD BUYING TIME FOR OVER 1,300 ORPHANS AND WIDOWS Food buying extends from late May until late July. During this time we will purchase approximately 500 TONS of food to feed hungry orphans living in the villages of 2 Districts/Counties. May is Bean month, followed in June and July with Corn, Rice, and Peanuts. Water well repairs continue bringing health to the villages.
The photo shows the SALT in 44 lb/20kg bags we bought just last week for distribution to the children. A cup full is given out to each family along with the other foods each time we visit a village. This is real ROCK SEA SALT that was evaporated out of the ocean waters that makes up one whole side of the Mozambique coast line. The work starts at 4:30 a.m. and continues till noon, once we receive the “go ahead” from the Dept. of Agriculture, (hopefully by the time you read this.) It takes all our male staff plus about 60 extra men who come each year just to help us with this program. The Joseph Project is adequately named, as we store food at harvest and distribute it in the months of hunger. Keep those prayers coming, as the next 3 months will be intense for all of us. BLESSINGS, BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE AND THE BALAMA STAFF
