FROM “BUSH BUNNY BRENDA” DATE: JANUARY 12, 2014
DOWN BUT FAR FROM OUT
Had to take it a bit slow this week, as I returned from a supply run to Pemba on Wed. afternoon with a mild case of malaria and not so mild dysentery. NOT a recommended combination. With quick treatment, I was much better by Friday.
ERIC DRY has returned from holidays in South Africa, (YEAH!) bringing me a “goody box”, so I am a happy camper with my Peanut M&M’s and 2 jars of Chocolate spread! Chocolate will get you into my door anytime!
TWO SALVATIONS TODAY AT ROVUMA CHURCH
We danced and sang and had a great time, with me teaching on “Respecting the Lord” today. You can’t go to Rovuma and not dance at least once before the Lord with Genono at your side. He’s the oldest member of our church being in his 60’s (this is ANCIENT in Moz. when life expectancy is 40!). He and his wife are raising their 3 orphaned grandchildren (all girls). This beautiful elderly couple are totally dependent on your Love Gifts of food and clothing as both have bad arthritis and can’t hoe a field to raise food. So Genono sits day after day, “somehow” slowly weaving baskets for other widows in our program, as a thank you gift for what we do for his family. He’s definitely has the Gift of Giving!
When the alter call was given at church, 2 young ladies came forward, asking to receive Christ, so I was THRILLED. Nothing like knowing that the angels are dancing and shouting Hallalujah, to begin this week on the right “foot”.
A look at daily life in the villages.
More ministry followed as I held “kiddy clinic” after church, treating 4 toddlers, all very ill (2 with high fevers due to malaria, and 2 with serious dysentery). There is no doubt that these 4 might have perished without the wonderful medicines your gifts provide. Rovuma is about 5 miles from the nearest hospital, which is still struggling to get medicines. THANK YOU for providing their needs.
It’s POURING BUCKETS of rain outside right now, so I’ll close off by saying,
Have a GREAT WEEK WITH JESUS!
QUACK QUACK from the Bunny with web feet, as we are about 6 inches in mud (15 cm to my RSA friends).
