WATER WELL CREW
put in the concrete slab and set the pump’s steel base into place on Saturday this week. All is moving forward to have “Living Water” flowing from the ground near our Balama church in the next 7 days. The cement needs time to harden before the pump can be installed later next week. Once the pump is in, the waiting for water is over!
NEW CHURCH KICKS OFF IN MOPONE TODAY!
Mapone (Mah-pone-ee) had a large turn out on Saturday when 2 of our Pastors went to meet with those interested in learning about Jesus Christ. Both Pastor Alberto, our Bible School leader, and the Namara leader, Pastor Ramadan, went by motorbike to this village for the first “official church meeting” today. We plan to show the Jesus Film on July 20th so that the entire 5,000 residents can witness the Gospel of Luke in their Makua language. It will be the
FIRST MOVIE EVER SEEN BY MOST OF THE VILLAGERS!
It may be hard for many of you to fathom, but there are still many places in Africa where the population has no idea what TV or a movie is. Many have never seen electricity, only battery operated flashlights. Today’s meeting was attended by 17 adults and 66 children. Jesus now has an open door into Mopone! PRAISE THE LORD!
BUSH BUNNY AND DANIELLE TEACH AT NAMARA CHURCH
With Pastor Ramadan in Mopone Villlage today, I was asked to teaching both the Sunday School and preach at the church. We had a great dramatizing the story of David and Goliath to the kids and then about “standing on God’s promises” with the adults. Danielle laughed herself silly watching me interact with the kids. Next time it will be HER TURN to act out the story. We used the story of David’s persecution by Saul to illustrate the adult lesson. After prayer for the sick, we had my “tailgate Bush Clinic” for the sick children.
Then it was off to Pequaria’s VERY unusual church service, as it’s ALL KIDS! Only 4 adults in this village show any interest in learning about Jesus Christ, so Pastor Tomas is “ploughing the fertile ground” (the kids!) It was amazing to walk into this little 15 ft. X 36 ft. (5 meter by 12 meter) building to find it OVERFLOWING with a sea of 128 smiling faces. The Holy Spirit has really touched these kids and they are sincere about learning more about Jesus.
