DAVE DEBOER VISITING FOR 3 WEEKS

Dave is busy fol­low­ing me around while tak­ing video footage of all that is going on in the many facets of our mis­sion. With his footage, our office staff hope to put togeth­er a short video for our web­site.  We want all of you to feel “more clued in” on what is going on around here.

Keep our Bala­ma team in prayer as the bean buy­ing begins TODAY, (June 1). It will be a hec­tic month for sure as we must move at a rapid pace to pur­chase 110 TONS of beans fol­lowed imme­di­ate­ly by 300+ TONS of corn before com­mer­cial buy­ers take it.

OUT OF THE CYCLONE RISES A NEW FOSTER MOTHER!

Cecelia along with Josephi­na, 14, and son Irish, 16, arrived last week after 3 weeks of hard liv­ing in a res­cue cen­ter fol­low­ing Cyclone Ken­neth. Hav­ing lost their home, they total­ly depend­ed on what res­cuers pro­vid­ed them, for they had no mon­ey or food.

Many were in this posi­tion fol­low­ing the strongest Cyclone to ever hit Mozam­bique, but most had fam­i­ly some­where who could help them.  Cecelia and her chil­dren had no such sup­port available.

Cecelia knows the Lord Jesus, and He heard her prayers.

It is amaz­ing how this sto­ry unfold­ed. Ina, a teacher in Pem­ba at the Inter­na­tion­al School, post­ed Cecelia’s sto­ry on Face­book. After read­ing it, the Lord firm­ly impressed on me that Cecelia was the fos­ter moth­er we need­ed for orphan home #6 which is still under construction.

Ina assist­ed me in doing a thor­ough inter­view which Cecelia passed with­out a prob­lem. She speaks excel­lent Por­tuguese, loves the chil­dren, and is a very quick learn­er. She is cur­rent­ly in train­ing to be a house moth­er. Our oth­er fos­ter moth­ers say she is a joy to work with. Cecelia’s sto­ry of hard­ships fol­low­ing the storm great­ly hum­bled them, leav­ing them super grate­ful the storm had not hit Bala­ma directly. 

JESUS WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS. MAKING NEW PATHS FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM WHEN DISASTER LEAVES ONE IN MUCH NEED.

I’ll sign off now as there is much to do with food buy­ing and Nation­al Children’s Day all hap­pen­ing the same day.
