DAVE DEBOER VISITING FOR 3 WEEKS
Dave is busy following me around while taking video footage of all that is going on in the many facets of our mission. With his footage, our office staff hope to put together a short video for our website. We want all of you to feel “more clued in” on what is going on around here.
Keep our Balama team in prayer as the bean buying begins TODAY, (June 1). It will be a hectic month for sure as we must move at a rapid pace to purchase 110 TONS of beans followed immediately by 300+ TONS of corn before commercial buyers take it.
Dave Deboer arrives in Balama with a smile after 3 days on jet.
OUT OF THE CYCLONE RISES A NEW FOSTER MOTHER!
Cecelia along with Josephina, 14, and son Irish, 16, arrived last week after 3 weeks of hard living in a rescue center following Cyclone Kenneth. Having lost their home, they totally depended on what rescuers provided them, for they had no money or food.
Many were in this position following the strongest Cyclone to ever hit Mozambique, but most had family somewhere who could help them. Cecelia and her children had no such support available.
Cecelia knows the Lord Jesus, and He heard her prayers.

It is amazing how this story unfolded. Ina, a teacher in Pemba at the International School, posted Cecelia’s story on Facebook. After reading it, the Lord firmly impressed on me that Cecelia was the foster mother we needed for orphan home #6 which is still under construction.
Ina assisted me in doing a thorough interview which Cecelia passed without a problem. She speaks excellent Portuguese, loves the children, and is a very quick learner. She is currently in training to be a house mother. Our other foster mothers say she is a joy to work with. Cecelia’s story of hardships following the storm greatly humbled them, leaving them super grateful the storm had not hit Balama directly.
JESUS WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS. MAKING NEW PATHS FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM WHEN DISASTER LEAVES ONE IN MUCH NEED.
I’ll sign off now as there is much to do with food buying and National Children’s Day all happening the same day.
So much more news coming next week.
BLESSINGS,
BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE
AND THE BALAMA STAFF
