BUNNY IN PEMBA
DAVE DEBOER flies in late afternoon today to help me with food buying for next 3 weeks.
JOY JOY JOY does not describe how happy I am for his helping hand. This is his 6th trip to help, so he truly knows what needs doing.
We’ll be “hoofing” it back to Balama first thing tomorrow. With massive road construction now in progress through all of Balama town, we must build a new entrance gate near our 3 food barns for our trucks. Both front gate areas are now too narrow a turn in for our long bed trucks.
Food buying begins in earnest on June 1st.
Beans are scarce, so pray we can find 110 TONS to buy. So far 80% of that amount has been promised, but due to the cyclone rains, all sacks will be quality inspected before acceptance. BIG JOB AHEAD!
MELUCO MAKE OVER A SUCCESS!
New WAREHOUSE built in 7 days!
Our 7 man team did an amazing job to complete such a big job in just seven days! Meluco suffered greatly from Cyclone Kenneth. The team was shocked to see how many homes were destroyed. They were sure glad to get home last Wednesday night! Nothing like “home cooking” and a loving family to make a man super grateful for what he has.
After food buying, we will continue assisting as much as possible with church and home reconstruction for the widows and orphans.
Right now, food for the next year for 1,617 orphans is what matters most.
ORPHAN HOUSE #6 LOOKING GREAT!
House #6 front veranda with 4 master bricklayers putting on final touches
The main house lacks final cement flooring which is planned for this week. Kitchen is only basic walls at this time, needing sink and rocket stove, as well as all window fittings installed. Bathrooms will be built in July when major food buying is completed. With all the set backs this year, we are thrilled to have this house 60% completed.
Large dining room (L) with cooking area through large doors on right
Keep your prayers headed heavenward for our teams need all the help we can get.
Blessings,
