TWO NEW VILLAGES RECEIVE BAWANA GAMES!

Car­l­i­tos Jorge and his band of mer­ry men rode into 2 very remote, unreached vil­lages this last Wednes­day to set up their games for the first time. These vil­lages are not huge, but they drew a good crowd as they taught the chil­dren how to play the games.

The vil­lage called “7th of Sep­tem­ber” had 291 par­tic­i­pants, and 394 flowed onto the soc­cer field in Rega­dio Vil­lage. The team was sched­uled to also open a pro­gram in a 3rd “lake vil­lage”, but the only road was blocked by road build­ing equip­ment. With a lake on one side and a huge hole on the oth­er, it was not pos­si­ble to go there even by motorbike.

I told the guys to not sweat it, for that road crew should be fin­ished in the next 2 weeks, and then they can roar in with the Gospel. Our teams are hard at work tak­ing the love of JESUS to the multitudes.

ORPHAN HOUSE #6 BREAKS GROUND!

We are call­ing it the “FLORIDA HOUSE” because 2 groups from FLORIDA, USA gift­ed it to the orphans of Bala­ma. There are no trees on this land, so we are putting a roof between the 2 homes so that the chil­dren have a  “cool breeze way” in which to play dur­ing the heat of the day.

I will be send­ing pho­tos as we build, but for now, we are hus­tling to put in the foun­da­tion, which is a MUST as the rainy sea­son is not far away (Nov. 15th-ish). Dark clouds have already shad­ed sev­er­al of our days, but we only received a sprin­kle. The heavy rains could pour any time now.

Sor­ry this is short, but I just drove in from a major sup­ply trip to Pem­ba, leav­ing at 3 a.m. this morn­ing. We ran out of baby bot­tles as we now have 30 babies need­ing our help to live. Their moth­ers either per­ished at birth, or the moth­er is so mal­nour­ished that she has no breast milk.  So I bought out 2 stores to get 22 bot­tles for our reserve.
