VILLAGE TEEN CHALLENGE
Youth Leaders Bertino and Daude together with our teenage orphan boys put out a soccer challenge. The first to respond were the teens in the Mango Tree Church village of Mpaca. (population 5000+ people). Objective: To tell the Teens and the large crowd about the love of Jesus.
Our team, the BUFFALOS, in light shorts, vs the Mango Team in dark shorts.
WHY A SPECIAL CHALLENGE? Few older teenagers come to the Bawana Games which attracts mostly 6–14 year olds. The ONLY thing that draws the older teens is a very competitive soccer game.
During the mid-game “break”, the crowd gathered under a large shade tree to hear what Bertino had to say. This is only the first of such challenges, for it proved to be a great way to touch the hearts of teenagers with the love of Jesus.
Soccer teams and crowd listen to Gospel for first time.
The teams tied 0 to 0. THE WIN WAS THE LORD’S, AS 6 YOUNG MEN CAME TO JESUS AFTER THE GAME WAS OVER!
The soccer challenge works, and we are now setting up #2 challenge with another village.
MORE FOOD AND NEW CLOTHES FOR THE ORPHANS
As the rainy season rapidly approaches, our trucks are busy 4 days a week delivering food to the remote areas where orphans are cared for by their grandmothers or aunts. Rains could start at any time, so we have a packed schedule of food delivery from now until the 15th of November.

BUSY BUSH BUNNY’S TIDBITS:
1. The President of Mozambique visited Balama on Thursday to open a very large agricultural project to promote jobs and agriculture education in the Balama area. Balama is the largest agricultural District (county) in the whole Province (state).
2. Our staff attended the opening ceremonies, returning with news that 3 tractors were donated to that project to help farm those huge fields. That will truly improve their farming capacity.
3. THE FLORIDA HOUSE FOUNDATION (house #6) is complete, and the 2nd phase (raising the foundation 1 foot above ground level, has begun. We hope to have that phase finished by end of next week. The house is 81.25 feet long (25 meters) X 18 ft. wide (5.5 meters) so it takes tons of material to fill in the foundation. Once that is done, we are “safe” from the rains and able to build as the rains allow for the next 4 months.
4. The FLORIDA HOUSE IS BIG for it has the capacity to accept up to 16 children using bunk beds in the bedrooms.
BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU,
BUSH BUNNY BRENDA LANGE
AND THE BALAMA STAFF
