VILLAGE TEEN CHALLENGE

Youth Lead­ers Berti­no and Daude togeth­er with our teenage orphan boys put out a soc­cer chal­lenge. The first to respond were the teens in the Man­go Tree Church vil­lage of Mpaca. (pop­u­la­tion 5000+ peo­ple). Objec­tive: To tell the Teens and the large crowd about the love of Jesus.

WHY  A SPECIAL CHALLENGE? Few old­er teenagers come to the Bawana Games which attracts most­ly 6–14 year olds. The ONLY thing that draws the old­er teens is a very com­pet­i­tive soc­cer game.

Dur­ing the mid-game “break”, the crowd gath­ered under a large shade tree to hear what Berti­no had to say. This is only the first of such chal­lenges, for it proved to be a great way to touch the hearts of teenagers with the love of Jesus.

The soc­cer chal­lenge works, and we are now set­ting up #2 chal­lenge with anoth­er village.

MORE FOOD AND NEW CLOTHES FOR THE ORPHANS

As the rainy sea­son rapid­ly approach­es, our trucks are busy 4 days a week deliv­er­ing food to the remote areas where orphans are cared for by their grand­moth­ers or aunts. Rains could start at any time, so we have a packed sched­ule of food deliv­ery from now until the 15th of November.

NEW CLOTHES, made at our mis­sion sta­tion, are now being dis­trib­uted to the 1,719 orphans in our feed­ing pro­gram. THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING THESE CLOTHES THROUGH YOUR LOVE GIFTS!

BUSY BUSH BUNNY’S TIDBITS:

1. The Pres­i­dent of Mozam­bique vis­it­ed Bala­ma on Thurs­day to open a very large agri­cul­tur­al project to pro­mote jobs and agri­cul­ture edu­ca­tion in the Bala­ma area. Bala­ma is the largest agri­cul­tur­al Dis­trict (coun­ty) in the whole Province (state).

2.  Our staff attend­ed the open­ing cer­e­monies, return­ing with news that 3 trac­tors were donat­ed to that project to help farm those huge fields.   That will tru­ly improve their farm­ing capacity.

3.  THE FLORIDA HOUSE FOUNDATION (house #6) is com­plete, and the 2nd phase (rais­ing the foun­da­tion 1 foot above ground lev­el, has begun. We hope to have that phase fin­ished by end of next week. The house is 81.25 feet long (25 meters) X  18 ft. wide (5.5 meters) so it takes tons of mate­r­i­al to fill in the foun­da­tion. Once that is done, we are “safe” from the rains and able to build as the rains allow for the next 4 months.

4. The FLORIDA HOUSE IS BIG for it has the capac­i­ty to accept up to 16 chil­dren using bunk beds in the bedrooms.
